Are you an experienced product leader in the tech industry with a strong track record of defining product strategy and bringing complex technical products to market? Would you like to work with truly unique technology that addresses environmental challenges and real-world problems?
We are seeking a Director of Product to define and drive Kuva Space’s product vision, strategy, and roadmap across our end-to-end offering, from satellite-enabled data products to customer-facing applications and APIs. You will be at the intersection of customer needs, business priorities, and technical execution, ensuring that our product portfolio delivers measurable value and supports Kuva Space’s commercial and strategic growth.
This is an impactful leadership role for someone who thrives in a complex, deep-tech environment and can translate frontier technology into compelling products and scalable market opportunities. You will be part of our management team and report to our CEO. You can be based at our HQ in Espoo, Finland, or be fully remote. Fully remote employees should be within a maximum of 3 hours of the Eastern European timezone. You will meet our customers often, and this role requires the flexibility to travel at least 20% of the time, sometimes more.

Key Responsibilities
1. Product Strategy & Leadership
Define and own the company’s product vision, strategy, and roadmap in alignment with Kuva Space’s strategy, mission and business goals.
Lead the evolution of Kuva Space’s product portfolio across satellite data, applications, platform capabilities, and customer solutions.
Identify high-value market opportunities and prioritize product investments based on customer demand, strategic fit, technical feasibility, and business impact.
Serve as the voice of the customer and the market within the organization.
2. Cross-Functional Execution
Partner closely with business development, engineering, satellite operations, data science, commercial, and leadership teams to deliver products from concept to launch and scale.
Translate business and customer requirements into clear product priorities, requirements, and execution plans.
Drive product development processes, including discovery, roadmap planning, prioritization, release planning, and lifecycle management.
Ensure alignment across teams working on hardware, software, data infrastructure, and end-user applications.
3. Customer & Market Insight
Engage directly with customers, partners, and stakeholders across commercial, institutional, government, and defense markets to understand problems and validate solutions.
Conduct market research, competitive analysis, and customer discovery to shape product strategy and positioning.
Define product value propositions and support go-to-market efforts in collaboration with sales, marketing, and business development teams.
4. Product Operations & Growth
Establish KPIs and success metrics for product performance, adoption, customer satisfaction, and business outcomes.
Build scalable product management practices, frameworks, and decision-making processes as the organization grows.
Support pricing, packaging, and business model development for data products, platform services, and solutions.
Contribute to strategic planning, portfolio decisions, and company-level growth initiatives.
5. Team Leadership
Build, mentor, and lead a high-performing product organization over time.
Foster a culture of customer focus, clarity, accountability, experimentation, and cross-functional collaboration.
Coach product managers and cross-functional leaders in product thinking and best practices.
Required Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field; an advanced degree is a plus.
Significant experience in product management, including leadership responsibility in deep-tech, space-tech, SaaS, data, Earth observation, defense, or related technology environments.
Proven track record of defining product strategy and bringing complex technical products to market.
Experience with platform products, APIs, data products, or analytics solutions.
Strong ability to work across multidisciplinary teams, including software, hardware, data science, and commercial functions.
Understanding of AI/ML-enabled products and data-driven solution development.
Experience translating advanced technologies into customer-centric product offerings and business value.
Strong commercial mindset with experience in product positioning, market analysis, and go-to-market collaboration.
Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to influence at executive and technical levels.
Comfort and willingness to operate in a fast-paced startup, with an evolving environment with ambiguity and competing priorities.
Very fluent English language skills.

Preferred Qualifications
Experience in Earth observation, remote sensing, hyperspectral imaging, geospatial analytics, or satellite systems.
Familiarity with government, institutional, dual-use, or defense-related customer segments.
Background in scaling product teams and product management processes in growth-stage companies.
Understanding of AI/ML-enabled products and data-driven solution development.
