Olli Ohls

I’m a Software Engineer on Kuva Space’s satellite team. I develop software for both the satellite and the ground segment, with a focus on automation and reliable mission operations. My work includes monitoring and controlling the satellite when needed, supporting other teams in their work, and contributing to tasks such as calibrating imaging instruments. Sometimes, that even means pointing the satellite at the Moon. I operate Hyperfield-1, and one of our main goals is to downlink imaging data as quickly as possible when a request comes in.

What I enjoy most about working at Kuva Space is the flexibility and the multicultural environment. It’s a real privilege to work with people from so many different backgrounds, each bringing their own experience, perspective, and unique strengths. We also have a wide range of personalities, which makes the work both more enjoyable and more interesting.

Outside of work, dance is a big part of my life and a way for me to relax. It has led me to many meaningful cultural experiences around the world.
