We are looking for an intern in our Satellite Software Development team. Our team handles both the satellite system software of our constellation of Hyperspectral satellites as well as software for the ground segment, including our satellite operations software stack.
You will have the opportunity to learn and grow in a supportive environment as part of a community learning together. Our teamβs task list is quite diverse, and you have a chance to influence what direction you want to grow towards. This is a full-time position, and the internship will last 6 - 12 months.

Key Responsibilities
You will be embedded in the satellite software development team and learn to become a skilled satellite builder or operator. You will be responsible for individual tasks gradually as your expertise grows. At the beginning, you might, for example, develop firmware or scripts for our satellite subsystems, study third-party vendor datasheets and user guides to implement internal software libraries for interfacing with such hardware or services, or improve and extend our ground station automation software.
Qualifications
Degree in software development or soon graduating in a relevant field
Good programming and debugging skills in any programming language, including both printf/console.log/print type and step-by-step debuggers
Some familiarity with the C programming language is a bonus
Comfortable with working on a Linux command line, including file operations, ssh remote connections, curl, operating system updates/installation, or bash scripting
Good command of Git or another version control system
Knowledge of relational SQL databases
Excellent teamwork skills and previous experience working with others in shared projects
Professional proficiency in the English language
Experience or enthusiasm towards the space technology field is considered a plus
Quick learner and self-motivated
Work sustainably in a busy environment
Full office presence required (Espoo)
