Tatsuo Shimizu

I’m a Senior R&D Engineer at Kuva Space and also the company’s representative in Japan. My work focuses on spacecraft radio systems, both for the satellite and the ground, as well as the power system. I also provide instruments for ESA’s deep-space missions. I originally lived in Finland, but now I’m based in Japan and work fully remotely, while still visiting Finland from time to time.

What I value most about working at Kuva Space is the culture. It’s a bit difficult to describe, but there is a sense of harmony here that leads to very high-quality work. People have strong knowledge and skills, and the interaction between colleagues is very good. Feedback is direct, which helps us improve quickly and keep the quality of our work at a high level.

Outside of work, I enjoy good food, relaxing in hot springs, and working on my own electronics hobby projects.
