Elena Marimon Munoz

I’m the Head of Data Engineering and Quality at Kuva Space. My team works on the processing, calibration, and validation of our satellite data, making sure that the data we receive from the satellites is transformed into accurate and reliable products that can be used for analysis and downstream applications. My background is in physics and image processing, and I’ve been working with imaging systems, calibration, and data quality for around 15 years, first in medical imaging and now in Earth observation.

What I enjoy most about Kuva Space is the people and the collaborative atmosphere. Even though I work remotely, there is a strong sense of support and teamwork, and I know I can always count on the people I work with. I also enjoy the work itself — there is something quite special about opening new satellite images and getting a glimpse of places all over the world through our data.

Outside of work, most of my free time is spent with my son. I also enjoy photography, playing board games whenever I get the chance, and going for walks with my dog in the countryside.
